Peachy Banana Strawberry

Summer Flavors At Their Finest

I love summer... everything about it. The freshness of the foods, the sunshine, the outdoors. ALL OF IT!!! I especially love fun fruity summer drinks! This morning I had a banana that was about to go and was walking the over ripe line. Instead of pitching it I knew it would taste amazing in my Shakeology. I also has fresh peaches sitting out on the counter from when we want to the farm this week. I knew they would make a great combo! Worth making on a hot summer day!!!! I did't feel like making lunch so that was a great alternative instead!!! 

Ingredients
10 ounces of water
10 ounces of ice
4 ounces of coconut almond milk 
1 scoop of vegan tropical strawberry shakeology 
1/2 of a very ripe banana 
1 fresh or frozen peach cut up

Directions
Combine water, ice and almond milk 
Pour into a blender
Add in fruit and shakeology 
Put the lid on and blend for one minute. 
Enjoy!!!

I know that some of you have been following me on social media and have noticed that the Beachbody coaching opportunity has been a big game changer for my life but also for my families. Some of you are silently watching in the background and I know the thought has come across your mind why not me too? If she can do it why couldn't I? I know that feeling because I had the same one. I watched my coach for many months before I got brave and decided I had what it took to be successful and I was not any different than her. If she could be successful maybe I could too. I took a leap of faith and it was the best decision I ever made. I never looked back. My world just got better and better. I became a new me. I was healthier, happier, more passionate and I also have become a bit wealthier in the process.

Because of this opportunity I have been lucky enough to be someone's saving grace when it comes to weight loss. I have taught women how to feel confident again in their own skin and how to love the body they were given. Not only does this opportunity give you the power to help others from a health and fitness stand point but I also now have the power to help people gain financial freedom for their family. This opportunity can be as big or small as you want it to be. Maybe you want to have some spending money, maybe grocery money or maybe even the opportunity to replace the income from your full time job. The cool part about this business is you are your own CEO. You decide what you want to make from it and the potential is limitless. The harder you work the better it gets.

A handful of the powerful women that I get to work with! This was taken in Nashville after a training. Hence my cowgirl boots ;) 
 I also have been able to grow on a personal level into a leadership role that I have always wanted to take on. The company has afforded me the opportunity to travel to Mexico all expenses paid, travel to Nashville for the coach summit event and also attend many Super Saturday trainings. Those opportunities have given me the chance to surround myself with the dreamers and the do-ers of the world. These people have taught me how to dream big and then go after it. They have shown me that I really can achieve a six figure income in a matter of a few short years because of this business. They are all proof that it is possible.

Having some fun at the last Super Saturday we had in Pittsburgh! It doesn't hurt to add that I am part of the number one team in the network and that the top coach Melanie Mitro is one of my business mentors!
You see I didn't set out with big goals like that but it just sort of happened. Then little by little a little became a lot and this month I finally am able to say that I have surpassed what I make in a month as a teacher just doing Beachbody on the side part time. I work my business 5 days a week when my son is in bed. I work from 8 - 11 pm each night in my pajamas. I do this because I know that if I am willing to work a few years like many won't I can spend the rest of my life living like others can only dream of and that to me is worth all the late nights.

Another thing that I have found in Beachbody is a sisterhood of friends and supporters. My team has become some of my best friends. Everyone is so supportive of each other and empowers one another to do better. We don't compete we push each other forward. It's a world of positivity and happiness. It's also a world that is focused on well being with exercise and healthy eating. From the outside looking in not everyone gets it, but from the inside looking out I question why anyone wouldn't want to be a part of this. Your crazy if you pass up this opportunity. I am so glad I pushed aside the doubt and just believed in myself. You should consider doing the same thing. Stop coming up with reasons why YOU can't do this and think of one reason why you can. I will teach you the ropes and get you trained. While you may be in business for yourself you will never be in business by yourself. I will be here coaching you along the way.

Chicken Noodle Soup - The Best I Ever Made

This past week I got to finally try some new recipes from the much anticipated fixate cookbook. All the ones that we tried last week were amazing but my favorite was the chicken noodle soup recipe. In fact, this is the best chicken noodle soup I have EVER had. My little one was actually the one who picked it from the cookbook to try. He's a die hard soup fan so I was not surprised he picked this one! 

Here are the ingredients you are going to need:

Ingredients 
2 tsp - olive oil 
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cups chopped celery
5 cups of organic chicken broth
2 cups of organic vegetable broth 
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts 
1 1/2 cups sliced organic carrots 
1 tsp dried oregano 
1/2 tsp of pink himalayan sea salt 
1 tsp black pepper
1 1/4 cups of dry whole wheat pasta 
2 chicken bullion cubes 

Directions 
In a stock pot place chicken breasts and broth as well as olive oil - bring to a rolling boil 
Add remaining ingredients and cook until vegetables are tender 
Add pasta, reduce to a lower heat and gently boil for 10 minutes. 
Remove from heat and enjoy!

CIZE IT UP - Week One

Ready Or Not It's Time To Go

Well a few months ago if you asked me if I was going to try the new CIZE program that was coming out in July I would have laughed and said nope, I am sitting this one out. Dancing's not my thing. Until I saw how much fun it seemed to be. I decided that I was going to change my opinion of dance and I was going to do it even if I was awful at it. My goal for this program isn't necessarily a weight loss transformation more so an attitude and skill transformation. I want to like it and I want to have fun doing it. This week I will take on two different workouts - Crazy 8's and You Got This. Crazy 8's is 30 minutes and You Got This will take about 42 minutes. There is also an 8 minute ab video that I am hoping to squeeze in a few days this week too. Probably when I have the Crazy 8 days since it's only 30 minutes. I normally only workout 30 minutes a day so a few of these are longer than usual but since it's summer I have a little bit more extra time. Last week I decided to do a test run of the two programs I would be doing this first week and I was amazed how much I was sweating and also how much fun I was having! I took some videos to record my "before" dancing skills and enjoyed trying to get the hang of things. It will be fun to see my progress over the next few weeks.

Tonight I will take my actual before pictures though too. Anxious to see if there is much of a transformation. My meals are planned and the groceries are all bought and ready for a week of healthy eating. I used the new fixate cookbook for most of my dinner ideas. CIZE uses the same nutrition plan like many of the other Beachbody programs. In fact it uses the same container system that the 21 day fix uses. I have been using this nutrition plan for the last year but sometimes go over on the allotted containers each day. I plan to really try hard to stick to the containers and stay on track. Below you will see what I will be having for my meals this week. The key to clean eating is trying to have 5 - 6 small meals per day to keep your fire fueled all day long.

So excited to add these to my collection! Most excited about the focused energy one! 

Okay, Okay I have to share! I have been keeping this under lids since last week but I am busting to tell you all what just came out last week when we were at the coach summit training in Nashville! The newest addition to the Shakeology family. These three new additions were created to target common problems most Shakeology users typically have on an ongoing daily basis. As a busy momma I have to say the focused energy has me most excited! I am trying so hard to cut out coffee and I think this will be how I do it! I am willing to bet that most of you could stand to have at least one of these in your life! I will keep you posted on how I like them but I just had to share! Cize Test Group

Love To Dance? - Why Don't You Join Me?

Okay I am about to be pretty real with you - I hate dancing. I have two left feet and it takes me an eternity to get the moves down. Looking back I feel bad for all of my old dance teachers. I am one of those who are very slow to learn. In the past I tried a Zumba class and liked it but kept getting frustrated that I couldn't keep up. I liked to stay at the back of the class so I could watch and nobody could see my moves. It just was never my thing. 

Well this month I am breaking out of my shell and I will be putting the weights down to try out the newest Beachbody program, CIZE. It is going to launch this week while I am at Summit and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. Excited for a little challenge. The best part is, I am doing this from home so no more hiding in the back row just me and the basement and my killer moves. 



The program is 4 weeks long and I will be going thru it for the first time along with my coaches. We will be taking applicants who would like to be a part of our official test group. The group will begin on July 27th. 

There is something cool about being in a test group! Fun to experience a program with others who are all doing it for the first time.

Quinoa Pizza Bites

Quinoa - As a Pizza Bite - Say What?

Needed Ingredients For Your Recipe 
As "clean" as  dinners are in our house, I have not incorporated quinoa into our usual dinner regim very often! I came across this recipe and thought maybe I could talk my hubby and son into trying it. Needless to say, I LOVED them- my guys, not so much. I was happy with my first attempt with this healthy pick! Excited to try more fun quinoa recipes. 
Recipe makes 12 bites
Ingredients
  • 2 cups cooked red quinoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil chopped
  • 1/2 of a small bag of pepperoni chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Pizza sauce for dipping (no sugar added)
Directions 
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Mix all ingredients together except the pizza sauce. Spray a mini muffin pan with olive oil or coconut oil spray.

Mixing up ingredients

  1. Evenly distribute the mixture into the mini muffin pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes
  2. Serve with pizza sauce

Ready For The Oven

Peaches & Cream Shakeology

A New Favorite For Sure!!

Ummm how have I went a year and a half and never tried this one? Oh my goodness, talk about a new favorite for me! This is SO creamy and so so so good! Absolutely perfect for summer time!!

Ingredients
10 ounces of water
10 ounces of ice
1 scoop or 1 packet of vanilla shakeology
4 ounces of coconut almond milk
1 ripe peach
1 tablespoon of sugar free fat free cheesecake pudding

Directions 
Combine water, ice and almond milk
Put into the blender
Add in shakeology, pudding mix and fruit
Blend for 1 minute
Enjoy!

Strawberry Banana Ice Cream - Fixate Style

I won't lie, I am dying for the launch of the new 21 day fix cookbook! I cannot wait to see what all will be included. BUT in the meantime we were given a sneak peak of a few recipes from the cookbook. I decided to give this "ice cream" recipe a try.

My son and I had a blast making it together - it was super easy and very healthy for him. The best part was he totally thought it was ice cream. Happy kiddo = happy mommy! You have to try this one with your family or for yourself!

Ingredients
2 cups of frozen bananas
1 cup frozen strawberries
2 tablespoons of almond milk - I used coconut almond milk for a slightly tropical taste
* I also used a tablespoon of natural peanut butter for a fun little add in!


Directions 
Place ingredients into the food processor
Turn on and mix until creamy - you may need to stir it a few times then blend again to get everything chopped up

Taste Of The Tropics

Vegan Tropical Strawberry has quickly become my favorite Shakeology flavor. At first it made me timid, I was worried about what vegan might taste like but I sure had been missing out! It's amazing! Try this tropical treat if you are looking for something fruity! 


Ingredients
10 ounces of water
10 ounces of ice
4 ounces of coconut almond milk 
1/2 ripe banana 
6 strawberries (frozen) if you like it creamy 
1/4 cup frozen mango 
1 scoop of vegan tropical strawberry shakeology 

Directions 
Combine water, ice and almond milk 
Pour into blender 
Add in fruit and shakeology 
Blend for 1 minute 
*Depending on your blender type you may need to stop 30 seconds in and stir everything before blending again for another 30 seconds

Genius is the only thing I can say when I think about the new cook book fixate that will be launching on July 14th! I am over the top excited because this is something that some of my challengers needed desperately! I have seen so many of my clients get success with programs like the 21 day fix and the 21 day fix extreme but what seems to hang them up the most is the meal planning and deciding how to "count the containers" for recipes. I always try my best to help them but sometimes it is more of a guessing game. 

Now cue this new cookbook - Autumn took the guess work out of it! She has included 101 of her favorite clean healthy recipes and does the break down for you. She has plenty of options for those who are paleo, gluten free, vegan and vegetarian. There is something for everyone for all kinds of meals each day - breakfast, lunch,  dinner, shakeology and even cocktails!



I can see this being a lifesaver for many of my challengers who struggle with the meal planning part! 

Personally I absolutely love to cook so this is going to be right up my alley! Typically I am a Pinterest girl when it comes to finding recipes while doing the fix but I have a feeling the Griffith house is going to be enjoying lots of fun 21 day fix approved dinners shortly after this launches!!

Focus on Family Fitness Challenge

My focus for July is not just on women and helping them to feel better - July is going to be a family affair. On Monday July 20th I will kick off a challenge group that will be focusing on getting everyone healthy. It will be a group effort!  Maybe you have a spouse that wants to drop some weight and you have thought about doing it together or maybe your kiddos are living off of mac and cheese and as much as you hate to admit it - maybe it is time for a change. Not just for you but for everyone!
