New Year - New You - Now Accepting New Challengers

Starting 2016 off On A New Foot

While I realize Christmas is just a few short days away, it also means that 2016 is nearing in your future as well. Guess what that means... Yep you’re right – time to make some New Years resolutions if your one of those people who make them. Or maybe you set goals for the New Year for yourself? Or maybe you’re just ready for a change after the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Let me guess, your thinking about joining a gym? Before you make that decision I think you should consider this opportunity first.

You see I have been there. I thought that joining a gym would help to get me healthy but it turns out as a busy mom finding time to get the the gym was nearly impossible. I later learned that I needed more than just a gym membership to learn to live a healthy lifestyle; I needed a coach. I needed someone to teach me exactly what it would take to live differently and I needed to be surrounded by people who were going thru the same thing.

My question to you is how much do you want to change? Like a little or a whole hell of a lot. Are you at the point - I call it the tipping point. This is the point where you decide one day you have had ENOUGH. You are sick and tired of feeling the way you do and sick and tired of what you are looking at in the mirror. The moment when you are over how your feeling, that's the moment when you know you are ready and that is the moment what change happens.

I remember my moment - it was the night after my little ones second birthday party. The party had ended I was exhausted. I was laying in our bed beside my sleeping husband and I felt bad about my post baby body. I was sick of being so tired all the time and I was sick of the belly flab my once thin body was carrying around two years after giving birth. I saw my friend advertising about this upcoming 21 day fix program. It was a program that promised up to 15 lbs of weight loss in just 21 days. It was going to teach me about portion control and help me add exercise back into my life. It sounded like a no brainer and I was ready to go all in. My only hesitation was Shakeology. It seemed expensive, I had no prior experience with meal replacements and quite honestly I was terrified I would hate the taste. BUT I wanted to change more than I wanted to stay the same so I decided I was going to go all in even if it was a risk of the unknown. I ordered the next morning. That's the thing about your tipping point. You don't want to wait anymore and quite honestly I didn't even care what it was going to cost me - I wanted a healthier me.

The rest is history and you know that if you follow me on social media you know that simple decision and small investment was one of the best moves I have ever made not just my life but also for my own health as well as my career. I have spent the last year and a half teaching women how to feel good again and how to be confident in whatever body they have been given. You see to me it's not about being skinny, it's about being healthy and leading my life by example so my son knows what healthy looks like. That's what I am here to teach people - simply how to live better. This is a culture that from the outside looking in seems crazy - trust me I was an outsider until I went all in and I am here to tell you it is a culture you want to be part of. Your life will change for the better 100%.

Don't tell me you can't get your body back after having a baby. If I can do it, anyone can!
Now, if you are still reading this post it might be a sign you are at your tipping point and it's time to try - seriously what do you have to lose - nothing... NOTHING at ALL!!!!

You see a healthy lifestyle is 80/20. 80% of this is nutrition and 20% is exercise. What I needed was someone to tell me what to do and hold me accountable when I felt like quitting. Starting a new fitness routine is fun but then the excitement wears off and that’s when you really need someone to push you.

That is what I am offering to you. I am offering to push you even when you don’t feel like it. I am willing to teach you how to live differently and I am willing to support you for as long as it takes. You see this lifestyle I am going to show you takes practice and lots of support. Let me be that person for you.

The Master's Hammer & Chisel Week 1 Review

Week One - We Survived!

the masters hammer and chisel, hammer and chisel meal plan, the masters hammer and chisel couples transformation, hammer and chisel transformations,

Before we started the program, we spent a lot of time on Sunday "getting ready" for the challenge. We made sure we had all of the right equipment and that it our space was clear and set up for where we would be working out. We planned out our meals and prepped them. Our grocery bill was surprisingly much cheaper than usual simply because we bought very few processed foods.

Before going to bed Sunday night things got real and we did our before pictures and measurements. Talk about humbling when you hand your husband a measuring tape and hand him the camera to capture what needs improved. As much as we didn't want to do it, I know we will be glad to have the before pictures seven weeks from now when we finish up the program.

Happy to have saved some money this week on our grocery bill.
So you probably are wondering, what were the workouts like right? I will tell you they were challenging and fun. We both really liked how each day we alternated between the different trainers and that each days workout varied in time. Friday was exciting because it was only 25 minutes. Sunday was more challenging with a 45 minute workout plus 10 minutes of abs. Even though I am in pretty good shape, I will say that some days this week were really a challenge for me. I was only a little bit sore earlier in the week from the muscle confusion I was putting myself thru. I had an acupuncture appointment mid week and had her adjust me too. My hips were out for some reason so I tried even harder to focus on my form the rest of the week.

All along I thought I would be the one who had to push him while we do the program, but honestly he was my cheerleader and challenged me to push a little harder each day we worked out together.

This was our morning cocktail... Okay not really it's a little early for that but we did reach for some energize this morning for an extra boost before our workout. Any guess what cup is mine? We have been using the performance line while we do this program to help push us a little harder.
Loving the performance line for this program, it's a must if your working out hard core!!
hammer and chisel meal plan, the masters hammer and chisel couples transformation, hammer and chisel transformations,
All in all we did a pretty great job of sticking to our meal plan. I will say we fell off the wagon over the weekend because we were out of town and had little control of what we were eating. We packed snacks and food for the road but by the end of the trip we did have to do some dining out. While our choices were not horrible, they were not as great as they should be while we are doing the program. We tried two new dinners last week and loved them both. I included the recipe below for the almond crusted chicken we made early in the week. It was so simple and really filling!

One of our many yummy dinners last week. You can find the recipe by clicking here

Below you will find what we are having this week to eat. I have a few holiday parties planned so it made meal planning more difficult. Instead of planning WHAT I will eat, I simply allotted foods from certain containers and I will pick and chose as I am there. As much as I would like to say it will be spot on, I know it won't be. As long as I am trying to stay on track though, that is all that matters to me.

Almond Crusted Chicken

Almond Crusted Chicken

the masters hammer and chisel, hammer and chisel meal plan, Hammer and chisel recipes, almond chicken, sarah griffith, top beachbody coach,

My husband and I are doing Beachbody's newest program The Master's Hammer and Chisel and one of the recipes in the program was this Almond Crusted Chicken. It was suggested to pair it with some mixed veggies so I went for yellow squash and zucchini. I cooked the veggies with olive oil, salt and pepper. I roasted them in the oven for about 30 minutes on 350 degrees. I also made brown rice to go with this dish. I was really excited to try using the almond flour as the breading and we were all very pleasantly surprised with how it turned out! Give this one a try!

Below you will find the recipe for the chicken.
Ingredients
6 - 4oz chicken breast
1/2 c almond flour
2 garlic cloves finely chopped
1 1/2 tsp. finely grated lemon peel
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 large egg white
1/4 c water
1 tbsp olive oil
3 tsp olive oil
Directions
-Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
-Place a chicken breast on a cutting board and slice thin and pound it out thin
-Combine almond flour, garlic, lemon peel, salt and pepper in a shallow dish; mix well then set aside
-Combine egg and water and whisk to blend.
- Dip each chicken breast into egg mixture and coat.
- Heat oil in large ovenproof skillet over medium heat.
-Add chicken and cook 3-4 min each side.
-Place in skillet oven. Bake for 10-12 min.

Enjoy!!!

Ready Set Go - Hammer & Chisel

Hammer & Chisel Program Prep Week Donehammer and chisel, the masters hammer and chisel, hammer and chisel meal plan, hammer and chisel review, sarah griffith, top beachbody coach,

Well after waiting for months to start the program, today is go time. I learned about Hammer and Chisel the newest program from Beachbody this past summer when the program was announced at our Coach Summit. It looked like something I wanted to try along with my husband. Typically I do the programs by myself but this one seemed like a good one for us to do together. For months we have been talking about it and were anxious to get started with it. Of course last week when it launched I was one of the first to get my hands on it and order. We did some prepping over the weekend to get ready. We made sure we had all of the required equipment, did our meal planning and prep along with our before measurements. Today we will get ready to take on week one of eight. I really was not looking forward to the before pictures and measurements but I know that this is necessary if I want to see any progress while I am doing this. The scale might tell you a number difference but the picture shows the true transformation.

One of the pros so far of this week is that our grocery bill was way down. I did not buy any foods that would get us off track from our goals that we have. It was mostly all fresh organic foods. Very few items that were processed. While we did go the organic route, not buying the processed snacks helped to save some money.
hammer and chisel, the masters hammer and chisel, hammer and chisel meal plan, hammer and chisel review, sarah griffith, top beachbody coach,
Our day one meals prepped and ready to be put in our lunch boxes before we take on the challenge.
My husband and I are doing this competition style to see who can get the better transformation. I am in pretty great shape and eat clean 90% of the time. He on the other hand has not worked out in months and has been eating more junk food that he would like to so honestly my bets are on him for the transformation win. I plan to give him a good run for his money though.

Day one without my morning coffee before my shake. Added in the focused energy boot to help with my caffeine withdrawal.
Check back weekly on my blog to get a progress update with how the week went and see our weekly meal plan. Stay tuned!

Be Here In A Year.... Be Here In A Year.... Be Here In A Year....

Happy Anniversary Cheryl

Be here in a year is a line that all of my coaches hear me say over and over and over again when they join this business. I tell them they have to treat this first year like an internship. They have to be willing to learn and grown and learn to duplicate the success that others have had. Making it a year with a multi-level marketing company means your the real deal. You have learned to weather the storm and the hardships that come along with learning to start your own business. The first year is not glamourous. It's hard and not everyone makes it to their one year anniversary mark but today one of my coaches Cheryl has achieved this big milestone. Let me tell you a little bit about her and how we got connected.

A year ago I met Cheryl. Funny little story about how we met. Her son was in my supply chain class last year when I taught business. I don't add parents of my students on social media. I try my best to keep my Beachbody business and my education work separate. A got a friend request from my students mom. When I mentioned it to him in class he sort of laughed and said go ahead and add her. She's actually interested in what you do as a coach with Beachbody. I went ahead and added her as a friend and started to strike up a conversation with her only to discover she was ready to GO ALL IN.

Within two days of meeting her Cheryl was signed up not just as a customer ready to get her own transformation, but as a coach ready to help inspire others. When I say she went "all in from the start" I really am not kidding. Since she signed she stepped in and became one of the top coaches on my team from week one. Her passion for coaching shines so bright it's contagious. Not only has she been a top success club achieving coach, but she also was the first coach I had on our team that rank advanced to diamond. (Which in our world is a HUGE business accomplishment.) She even earned a free ticket to our coach event this summer in Nashville because of her early success as a coach.

A few of our team mates at their first Super Saturday event.
Our friendship has really grown over the last year. We have traveled to Pittsburgh together for several corporate events, but we also went to Nashville together for the coach Summit in July. It was fun to spend so much time together and get to know one another. She has one of the best personalities I have ever came across. She is so positive and fun to be around. Such a fun free spirit but also a driven leader. It's a heck of a combination.

This is Cheryl with Lindsay her Success Club Partner. I love the bond the too have. Truly great friends because of Beachbody.
I wanted to share with you her accomplishment and also allow her to share a bit about her coaching journey and what it has looked like along the way. If your following her on social media, my advice is to keep watching. Even bigger things are on the horizon for her in the coming year. Dream big my dear, dream big!!
xoxoxo
Sarah

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Love hearing what the opportunity has done for Cheryl. Take a look at her recap of year one in the business.

Last December, I was not happy with the way I looked or felt. I was eating junk food, and not exercising consistently. I needed a jumpstart….and I needed accountability. I had been watching Sarah on social media and her journey to a healthier lifestyle- so I wanted in…ALL IN I am truly a free spirit and a “Go Big or Go Home” kind of a girl, so it came as no surprise to my family or friends when I said, “Oh, by the way I am going to do the 21 Day Fix Challenge”, and I am also going to be a coach and launch my own business. That is the way I roll!Being a Beachbody Coach is the greatest gift I have ever given myself, my family, my students, and my challengers. I am a new person now- physically, mentally, and emotionally. As a “teacher at heart”, I have a true passion for helping others in a fun and meaningful way, so I love being a mentor to my challengers and coaches. I have had amazing success my first year in the business, and I can’t wait to “Rock it out again in 2016”.

Curious About What I Do As A Coach?

Live Q & A Session With A Top Beachbody Coach

beachbody coach?, What does a beachbody coach do? Sarah Griffith, top beachbody coach, team fit & fabulous, elite beachbody coach,

If you follow me on social media, you might notice some of my posts about challenge groups and coaching and how this opportunity has "changed our world." You might be thinking great, good for her but seriously what the heck does this girl actually do? How do so many people do it? Chances are if you are on social media you have at least one other friend who is a coach. Aside from taking a few too many selfies and posting them on social media many might question what is her actual job with Beachbody? I get it, I used to wonder the same thing about my own coach before I jumped in. This Thursday December 3, 2015 I am blocking out time in my schedule to meet with anyone who might be interested in learning more about coaching. I will answer commonly asked questions about the opportunity. In addition, I will spill the beans about income, the trips I get to take and even talk about the friendships I have made along the way. After this two hour live event you will be better able to make your own decision if coaching is right for you.

You don't need to go anywhere, all you need to to join this Facebook group (Click on the highlighted link) and log in at 8:00 pm eastern standard time. I will post a video every 10 minutes and will wrap things up with a live call with all of you at 9:15 pm.

Please fill out this application before you join the group so I know who to expect. This live session is only being offered for those who are not already a coach or working with an active coach. New or current customers only please.

Fall Harvest Salad

Crunchy, Healthy & Beautiful - Fall Harvest Salad

fall sides, healthy salads, elite beachbody coach, sarah griffith, organic dinner ideas,

Over Thanksgiving I went to my mom's holiday gathering. She has an event that she calls "Dessert Night." The event is just like it sounds, an evening with lots and lots of sweets and junk food. We have also added in appetizers but this year I cheated and brought along this healthy salad. It was one of my favorite salads I have ever made and a huge hit with the guests. You must try this one! Check out the recipe below. I don't give specifics on ingredients because it just depends on how many you are planning to serve.

Ingredients
Organic romaine lettuce (Spinach would also be great)
Pomegranate arils
Dried organic cranberries
Sliced organic apples - (any kind would be fine, I used fuji)
Bacon crumbles
I wanted to include feta cheese but forgot to add it in

I used a cranberry cherry dressing from Wegman's. A balsamic would also be great with this.

Enjoy!
